These five pieces, brought together
under the title Halcyon Days, were composed at Albyns Farm, Peter
Thorogood's childhood home in Essex, and were revised between 1946 and
1952, during his student days at the Guildhall School of Music and the
Royal Irish Academy of Music. They evoke memories of happy childhood days.
